COVID-19 Protocols
We Are Committed To Your Health & Safety
We have always been very careful making infection control and patient safety a top priority for you, our patients, and our dental care team. To further protect you and your family, we have put into place new Coronavirus (COVID-19) protocol and infection control measures recommended by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We do this to provide a safe and secure environment and experience for you and your family members.
Here’s what we are doing to keep our patients and staff safe:
- Each patient and their parent will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms via phone at the time of scheduling. There will also be additional screening questions via a phone check-in process prior to entering our office to ensure child and parent have not come in contact with a COVID patient. (any patient or parent that has not passed our pre-screening process will be rescheduled until cleared by a medical doctor)
- During our virtual phone check-in process you will be asked to continue to wait outside in your car and we will notify you via phone or text when your child’s dental chair is ready.
- Upon arrival, you the parent and child will be asked to wash your hands and or given hand sanitizer as well as having your temperature checked.
- We are requiring all persons entering our facility to wear a face covering.
- Please keep your cell phone in your pocket the entire time you are in our office- cell phones carry a lot of bacteria and viruses.
- You may see that our waiting room will no longer offer magazines, children’s toys and so forth, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect and there will also be less seating to allow for social distancing.
- Appointments will be managed and staggered to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you may be offered fewer options for scheduling your child’s appointments.
- We have reduced our appointments to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time
- Only the patient being treated and one parent is allowed in the office.
- Your child will be asked to rinse with a concentrated diluted hydrogen peroxide rinse that kills COVID-19
- As our office design in our Orthodontic and Hygeine area are open bay we have installed dividers isolating each bay for a strictly controlled individual environment.
- Each operatory is outfitted with a virus killing air purifier that exceeds medical grade requirements (HEPA filtration). We are also installing these purifiers in the waiting room and reception desk to clean the rest of the office air.
- We have also installed Air Scrubers to our heating and a/c units. An Air Scrubber uses germicidal UV light waves coupled with a catalytic process to attack germs and other particles that remain in the air or on surfaces like doorknobs and countertops.
- For procedures that require aerosols either an isolation device and or a high evacuation suction machine will be used, these small machines are high powered suction devices placed near the mouth ( they don’t touch the child) that will clear the aerosols and use HEPA filtration to remove 99.7% of viruses.
- All employees are pre-screened daily with health questionnaires and temperature checks and will not be permitted to work unless they pass the pre-screening and all employees wearing face coverings as well
